Welcome to Northcourt Road!

Christ Church Abingdon was planted into the Tithe Barn on Northcourt Road in 1961.

We’re a gospel-centred church, seeking to present Jesus Christ to all and help people grow as his disciples (apprentices!) Our DNA is Word and Spirit – a confident belief in what God reveals in the Bible, and an openness to the Holy Spirit’s ministry among us.

When we gather

We’re seeking to help people live as Christians in everyday life, and are also very aware of what God can do when we gather as his people together. We’re very grateful to have many committed and gifted people, and some beautiful buildings where we can host events. On a Sunday we have three services with great children and youth provision.

For service times and more about what to expect on a Sunday, please visit our Sundays page.

Through the week

Our Northcourt Road site is busy all week long. The Barns Cafe is buzzing with lots of people, and we host the Abingdon Foodbank, serving those in need. We have groups and activities for all stages of life – pre-school, children, youth, young adults, families, and over 60s. One of the best ways to belong and be known is by joining one of the midweek small groups where we build community and strengthen relationships with Jesus at the centre. We also offer support along life’s journey with loving pastoral care teams, bereavement support, and a mentoring network.

Enjoy browsing the website to find out the range of activities on offer, and you’d be very welcome to come and visit, and join in – whether at Long Furlong or Northcourt Road
